The Glenmore Band

by
Rey "Niki" Domingo
Los Angeles, California USA

Enclosed the above picture of the young and energetic Glenmore Band during the 60's. The original band members were (from left to right): Niki Domingo (guitar), Boy Camara (lead vocal), Victor Cruz (guitar & now deceased), Boy Diaz (on drums and now residing in New York) and Boy Mamaril (on bass). The girl standing in front of the picture is the sister of one of the band members and she had a debut party.

We used to play tunes like Da Doo Run Run, Route 66, Gary Lewis & the Playboys tunes, Searchers tunes and Beatles tunes just to name a few.

Our band competed at the San Sebastian College's Battle of the Bands in 60's. In that concert, the Tilt down Men, Dynasouls, Bits N Pieces, Versatiles, Red Fox, Jungle Cats, Glenmore, Technicolors & others were all present to share all their talents.

I still remember the times when we used to play for College Fairs, especially all those Girls Schools, St. Theresa's, Maryknoll, La Consolacion, Holy Spirit, Sta Isabel, St. Pauls, St. Mary's and many other occasions-events.

Whoaaaa.... Ang sarap mag -reminisce (it is really nice to reminiscene indeed).

From: Nike Domingo, currently with the Music Unlimited (formerly Bits N Pieces band) gigging around Southern California.
